Close the handles together and insert end of long strap through the slot in the spindle bar.
Pull the strap through until all the excess strap is through the slot. Pull up and push down on the ratchet handle, this will tighten the strap.
There should be a minimum of 2 full wraps of webbing around the spindle when the strap is tight.
To lock ratchet when tension in sufficient, push ratchet handle to down position. Ensure the loose end of the strap is secured.
To release tension, pull back handle about 135 degrees and locate the quick release lever and hold down then fully open ratchet handle to 180 degrees.
Pull on the longer length of strap to remove from slot.

Do not exceed the working load capacity as stated on the packaging.
Ensure that both the hooks and the buckle are aligned with the directions of the tension.
Attachment hooks must be positioned such that they can not move or slip in use
Ensure that the points of attachment to the vehicle or trailer are of sufficient strength to withstand the maximum loading that will be produced during use.
If securing an item with a suspension system (such as a motorcycle) ensure that the suspension is fully compressed whilst tensioning the strap. In this case it is also essential that an equal tension is applied to both front and rear suspensions.
Take additional care if securing large objects or objects with large flat areas that may be subject to aerodynamic lifting forces. The forces generated by aerodynamic lift can be very high, always use the appropriate number of straps and drive at reduced
Do not use mechanical devices to apply additional force or tension.
Protect the webbing of the straps from sharp edges, abrasion, hot surfaces or exposure to acids. Check the strap regularly for signs of deterioration or damage.
