Wherever you plan to store your caravan over the winter period, it is essential to make sure it is protected from the elements. We have put together a brief guide to help you ensure your caravan is fully protected over this harsh winter months. Where possible, take all upholstered items home or stack in the centre of the caravan Remove all expensive electrical items
Place small bowls of salt or dehumidifying crystals around to absorb any damp.Drain down and turn off the water systems including boiler, water tanks and cassette toilet. Clean hard surfaces with anti-bacterial liquid to prevent the build-up of mould and ensure the fridge door is wedged open. Lubricate all moving mechanical parts, jockey wheel, wheel studs, brakes etc, to ensure they do not seize up. Finally, cover the caravan with a breathable, soft polypropylene material, which won't scratch the windows or paintwork.
Remember in 2019 when your caravan comes out of hibernation, it is recommended that you book your caravan for its annual service, so you can holiday knowing your caravan is safe for another year.
