Description

Breakaway cable which fits all trailer and caravan braked couplings manufactured by Al-ko. Designed to apply the brakes in the unlikely event of the trailer or caravan becoming detached from the towing vehicle.

The cable should be fitted to the handbrake of the coupling using the hook provided on the cable and is designed only to loop around the towball or through an attachment point on a towbar. However, a breakaway cable should only be looped around the towball as a last resort, usually when there is no other option. Using an attachment point supplied on the towbar is the preferred and safest method, the Alko breakaway cable ALKO130 is, therefore, the better option.
